Our Clients
On our visits to nursing homes we
encourage socialization and conversation, stimulate intellect and memory,
provide entertainment and fulfill tactile needs. Reminiscing about a long
ago pet, conversing with a fellow animal-lover or getting some serious "fuzz
therapy" helps to brighten a day. In a rehabilitation program, therapists utilize the pets in activities designed to attain specific goals, such as: increase range of motion, strengthen hand-eye coordination, build muscle tone and enhance mobility. For hospitalized children, the animals help alleviate anxiety. They can offer diversion, entertainment or reassurance. And they certainly can bring a smile or giggle to an unhappy face. Interested? REMEMBER: requests will only be accepted between January 1, 2008 and January 22, 2008. No requests for applications will be accepted before JANUARY 1st or after JANUARY 22nd.
