Our Clients On our visits to nursing homes we encourage socialization and conversation, stimulate intellect and memory, provide entertainment and fulfill tactile needs.   Reminiscing about a long ago pet, conversing with a fellow animal-lover or getting some serious "fuzz therapy" helps to brighten a day. In a rehabilitation program, therapists utilize the pets in activities designed to attain specific goals, such as:  increase range of motion, strengthen hand-eye coordination, build muscle tone and enhance mobility. For hospitalized children, the animals help alleviate anxiety.  They can offer diversion, entertainment or reassurance.  And they certainly can bring a smile or giggle to an unhappy face. Note: Our next new volunteer workshop will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013, with Temperament Testing the following Saturday, April 13, 2013. Please note that we do NOT maintain mailing lists of interested individuals. Interested?
